About Counselling
There’s huge strength in what you’re doing, looking for help. Within the safety of the counselling room (online or in person) is where any subject can be explored. By talking, we’re able to gradually uncover sources of pain, shame, loss, regret, disillusionment, fear—nothing is off the table.
In Person Centred Counselling, I work empathically, listening carefully, to fully understand you. This may be the first time you set aside time, just for you. I can help you be the person you’ve always meant to be. I’m able to help you to:
- Understand your emotions/feelings such as stress, anxiety, sadness, depression, shock, grief, overwhelm or isolation
- Gain insights into your relationships
- Make changes to your life and/or to accept things that can’t change
- Work towards personal goals
- Feel more hopeful and/or find meaning and purpose in life
As an integrative counsellor, I combine various models to ensure the way I work suits each individual or couple.
I offer a free initial consultation where we can discuss what you’d like to get out of counselling, whether what I offer meets this need and if we would be a good fit. You can book directly into my calendar at the top of the page or contact me below.
Initial consultation—usually 20 minutes over the phone. A discussion about what you want from counselling, how counselling works and whether I could be the right counsellor for you: FREE
1 hour in-person or online: £50.
1 hour home visit: £50 plus travel expenses.
Please ask about concessionary rate if you’re a key worker, on a low income or a student.
I aim to provide a safe, non-judgmental environment where we work together to explore any aspect of your life that’s troubling. Counselling is primarily about talking, my role is to enable self discovery, greater awareness and understanding so that progress can be made towards the things you want to achieve.
I primarily work in a person centred way, this combines unconditional positive regard, empathy and congruence to build a relational style of working. I recognise that the client’s agenda needs to be central to the work. I also incorporate elements of other theories including existential (answering the big life questions) and compassion focused therapy (balancing drive, compassion and threat focus) when appropriate to the work.
